Doctor Shortage?

It looks like the State and/or Federal Exchanges are on their way to being set up, but are we going to have enough doctors to handle everyone that will be enrolling?  The article linked below points out that this is a very serious issue that has yet to be addressed.

Are Employers Already Dropping Coverage?

Even though most of the PPACA doesn’t take effect until 2014, it seems that the amount of people covered on employer sponsered health plans continues to drop. Could unemployment be the cause?

See this article for more details: http://www.benefitspro.com/2013/02/22/employer-sponsored-health-insurance-hits-new-low?goback=%2Egde_1950680_member_216787808

Is Money the Best Incentive When it Comes to Wellness?

We saw an article in the WSJ last week that seemed to question whether or not offering discounts on your insurance premium was a good incentive and if it was fair to all employees.  How do you incentivize your employees in regards to wellness? Do you see a problem with financial incentives when it comes to wellness?

See article here: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB20001424127887324610504578273673319849976.html?ru=yahoo?mod=yahoo_itp&goback=%2Egde_1749077_member_215549666

Are You in "Shock Mode" About Your PPACA Costs?

Have you even calculated what those costs will be? An article by Gillian Roberts in Employee Benefit News this last Tuesday says that, “More than half of employers have not calculated their costs under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, but of those that have, 61% say PPACA has increased their expenses.”  Would an increase in cost effect your decision as an employer to “Pay or Play?” We’d love to hear your opinion!
